Yin Yoga

Challenging the subtle body, this style of yoga borrows heavily from Qi Gong and Restorative Yoga.  Though Tai Chi is a form of Qi Gong, it differs from this style of movement therapy in a few key ways.  Yin Yoga does not incorporate standing poses or the need for balance, allowing the practitioner to hold relaxed poses for several minutes.

Hatha

This style of yoga challenges the practitioner to hold poses for several long breathe cycles developing balance, tone, and strength.  Use of props and special attention to alignment in the poses is encouraged.

Restorative

Suitable for all age and experience levels, Restorative Yoga is especially good for practitioners with anxiety or injuries.  The use of props is vital to finding comfortable positioning in each of the poses.  The emphasis is often on internal adjustments to find a deeper expression of the stretch.
